Riversdale Mining [ASX: RIV] - New CEO Appointed
Riversdale Mining (ASX: RIV) advises that Mr Eric Finlayson has been appointed as the new CEO of Riversdale Mining Ltd.
Mr Finlayson will move from his current role as Head of Exploration with Rio Tinto to take up this appointment, effective from 1 July, and will be located in Maputo in Mozambique, Africa.
Mr Finlayson has previously held senior roles with Rio Tinto Exploration in Vancouver, London and Perth and has extensive experience in emerging country environments.
The Board wishes to thank Mr Mallyon for his contribution to Riversdale. Mr Mallyon was appointed Managing Director of Riversdale on 1 August 2008, and has held the responsibility for the operating activities and financial performance of Riversdale and its operations and projects in Australia and Africa.
Mr Mallyon will move into the role of Special Advisor to Mr Finlayson, to ensure a smooth transition of management accountabilities.
