Solar Energy
Under the Remote Village Electrification (RVE) Programme, proposals are received from the State implementing agencies for financial support for creation of facilities for lighting/ basic electricity through renewable energy sources including solar energy in those remote unelectrified census villages and unelectrified hamlets of electrified census villages where grid extension is not found feasible by the State Governments and hence are not covered under the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana. Such proposals are sanctioned once they are complete in all respects and are in conformity with the provisions of the RVE Programme, subject to budget provisions.
