LG India bags the National Energy Conservation Award – 2010

 

  • Also wins “Manufacturers of BEE Star labeled appliances award for Refrigerator, Air Conditioner & CTV”

 

December 14, 2010 – LG Electronics India, a global leader and technology innovator in consumer electronics, mobile communications and home appliances, bagged prestigious National Energy Conservation Award for Consumer Goods manufacturing & for Manufacturers of BEE Star labeled appliances. Hon'ble Minister of Power Mr. Sushil Kumar Shinde felicitated Vipin Gupta, Factory Head, Greater Noida, LGEIL today in lieu of National Energy Conservation Day, in New Delhi.

 

LG Electronics India Greater Noida plant received First prize for Consumer goods manufacturing. LG was awarded first prize in Consumer Goods Manufacturing sector for its energy conservation efforts which resulted in plant electrical & thermal efficiency. LGEIL has made a clean sweep in Consumer goods category also. The company bagged “Manufacturers of BEE Star labeled appliances award” for their energy efficient products in the Refrigerator, Air Conditioner & CTV category.  LG has been awarded First prize for following endeavors in the field of Energy conservation due to

 

       1) Highest contribution in production and sale of star rated models

       2) Improvement in Energy Efficiency across all above product categories

       3) Initiatives to introduce BEE Star Rated products in various segments

 

Keeping in line with the global direction to use greener technology, LG launched many products this year in 2010 that boasts of immense energy efficiency, superlative design and explicit performance. LG’s inverter range of air conditioners saves up to 40% energy and also uses environment friendly refrigerant. LG also launched 23 energy efficient models of direct cool refrigerators and introduced 5 star rating across the new range – an extension of the India Insight products.

 

Receiving the award, Vipin Gupta, Factory Head, LGEIL said “I am honoured to receive the recognition for our efforts in innovation and manufacturing the energy efficient products. I would like to congratulate all the functional departments at LG India for their remarkable and collective efforts. I accept this on behalf of the whole team of LG India.

 

Every year, Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) under the Ministry of Power, Government of India invite applications for National Energy Conservation Award & Manufacturers of BEE Star labeled appliances (Refrigerators, Air conditioners & color television) under various categories. The aim of the award is to recognize companies who set an example in the field of energy conservation. Under this award, data is complied and provided to BEE. After the entire exercise, a committee evaluates the finding and declares the results based on their performance.
