MSME Expo-2010 A Platform For MSME’s to Showcase their Products

The MSME Expo-2010 organized by the Development Commissioner (MSME) at India International Trade Fair, was inaugurated by Shri Dinsha Patel, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for MSME at Pragati Maidan here today. Shri Uday Verma, Secretary, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises was also present on the occasion.

Going around the Pavillion the Minister praised the exhibits and the work done by the clusters. He said that the need is to make special efforts to publicize the activities and schemes to create greater awareness and to reach out to the villages and bring economic prosperity and social upliftment of the rural masses.

The MSME Expo will help the MSMEs to exhibit their products manufactured by MSME entrepreneurs in order to provide marketing opportunity to MSMEs within the country and abroad to focus on their products.

Encouraged with the overwhelming response of previous year, 70 MSME entrepreneurs from all over the country exhibited their products. A large variety of products like ready-made garments, artificial jewellary, leather products, food products, toys, chemical products, electrical products, consumer products etc. are put for display. Among the States the largest participation has come from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Special attraction of this Expo is the exclusive exhibition by the National Award winners across the country, displaying wide spectrum of products from MSME Sector. Participation in such event helps the MSMEs in enhancing their marketing avenue by way of capturing new marketing and expanding existing market and also helping them in becoming ancillaries and partner in joint ventures.

The objective of the exhibition is the recognition of micro and small-scale units by showcasing the technology adopted by them in manufacturing items and also MSME EXPO is to provide a suitable platform/place at reasonable cost to micro and small scale entrepreneurs to showcase their products and technology and according generate business including export orders. The MSMEs display their innovated and qualitative products, which are widely appreciated by the visitors and buyers. They get every year million of rupees business from local as well as from overseas business houses/units. This exhibition has been widely appreciated by associations, MSMEs, NGOs and other similar organization.

Shri Dinsha Patel also inaugurated the Coir Board pavilion and visited the Khadi Pavilion.
