Volkswagen Celebrates Independence Day





- Production of Skoda Fabia starts from Chakan plant.

Pune; August 14, 2009: German auto major, Volkswagen celebrated India’s Independence Day at its Chakan Plant, Pune today. This celebration brought together all the employees of the Volkswagen Plant in Chakan, making it a moment to cherish.

The celebrations started with the planting of saplings by Mr. Joerg Mueller, Volkswagen Group Chief Representative India, President and Managing Director, Volkswagen India Private Limited; along with the Board Members and all the employees at Volkswagen India’s plant at Chakan.

Mr. Mueller, addressed the employees, “On the occasion of this Independence Day, the planting of saplings and watering them with the recycled water from our production facility is our symbolic contribution for a cleaner, greener and healthier environment.”

Mr. Mueller also formally announced the Start of Production for the Skoda Fabia from the Chakan plant. 

The occasion was welcomed by all the employees and they were delighted to celebrate the auspicious day with their fellow colleagues.
